About Me
Hi, I’m Janet James—Registered Nurse (RN), International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and passionate advocate for mothers and babies. With over 25 years of experience in maternal and neonatal care, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting families through the powerful, sometimes challenging, journey of breastfeeding.
Why This Matters to Me
I believe breastfeeding is more than just a feeding method—it’s a foundation for lifelong health, bonding, and confidence. Breastfeeding can reduce the risk of postpartum depression, lower the chance of developing breast, thyroid, and ovarian cancers, and help protect against chronic illnesses like type-2 diabetes and heart disease. For babies, it’s the perfect first food, rich in essential nutrients that support growth and development.

But breastfeeding isn’t always easy. That’s where I come in.
Years of Care, One Mission
I began my work in lactation in 2005 as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and later earned my IBCLC certification in 2024. Over the years, I’ve supported mothers in hospitals, clinics, and community settings—always with compassion, cultural awareness, and a deep respect for each family’s unique story.
I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations both locally and internationally, and I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when a mother feels seen, heard, and supported.
